Upcoming Conference: Public health and technology -- NextMed Health, March 30-Aug 2

BOSTON, March 5 (Reuters) - A U.S. judge on Wednesday blocked President Donald Trump's administration from carrying out steep cuts to federal grant funding for research that universities and Democratic-led states warn would lead to layoffs, lab closures and a curtailment of scientific and medical studies.

Schools in some U.S states are closing because of flu outbreaks

Schools across the United States are closing due to spikes in influenza and other seasonal illnesses. As the 2024–2025 flu season rages on with no peak yet in sight, some school systems are overwhelmed with sick students and staff.

Schools and even entire school districts are temporarily closing down in Texas, Ohio, Georgia, Tennessee and other states.
