ZAGREB, Croatia — Citizens of Croatia’s capital city have been lining up for free rapid antigen testing that has been introduced as part of efforts to curb a surge in coronavirus cases.
The risk of mortality from the coronavirus disease that emerged in 2019 (COVID-19) is increased by comorbidity from cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases. Air pollution also causes excess mortality from these conditions.

The situation has grown so dire the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence now ranks water scarcity as a major threat to national security alongside terrorism.
